How to catch snook in a creek

Fun Snook Fishing In Tiny Creek During The Winter (via Paddle Board)

Winter time is here, and that means it's time for my favorite type of fishing...

Yep, it's sight-fishing time.

Time to get on the paddle board and hunt snook up in the clear waters of shallow creeks and sheltered bays.

Because this is when many big snook push up into the wind-protected creeks and bays since they tend to hold warmth better than open waters inshore.

And what better way to go after them than from a paddle board since it's great exercise similar to kayak fishing while having a much higher point of view which gives a huge advantage in seeing fish before they see you.

And that of course is essential in sight-fishing.

This video was filmed in a small creek that empties into Tampa Bay, FL. And it was on a super windy day right before a strong cold front pushed in this winter.

The lure used was a Gulp jerk shad rigged on a weighted hook... click this link to see exactly how to rig it:

So make sure to get out there this winter and take advantage of the super clear water with big fish...

Fish On!
